Faith Center
St. Joseph Faith Center was built in 1900. Originally, the school was on the bottom two levels, and the parish hall was on the upper floor. The last renovation was done in 1949 – 75 years ago. Over the years, the Faith Center housed various ministries, including CCD, outreach ministries, God’s Storehouse, and St. Vincent de Paul. The building is a historical site in Wapakoneta and a beautiful site for the community. A few years ago, the roof was replaced, the bricks were repointed, and the windows were replaced. A committee was formed to discuss this facility, and after much prayer and discussion, it was determined that it should be renovated, not demolished. Currently, the Faith Center is not handicap accessible, which is a priority. The renovation will include an elevator with access to the parking area. The renovation began February 2025, and will hopefully be completed by February 2026. Once completed, the Faith Center will house our parish offices and CCD.
Construction is underway! The St. Joseph parking lot is limited (see diagram below). For the time being, we can only access the Benton Street entrance and Pearl Street exit. We have approximately half of the parking lot to use. If you can, please consider parking farther from the church and walking to keep the parking spots available for those who need them. We appreciate your support and joyful hearts through the construction process.
Stained-Glass Windows
St. Lawrence’s stained-glass windows are in the process of being refurbished by Window Creations, based in Ottoville, OH. Window Creations refurbished St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Conception’s stained-glass windows a few years ago. The process involves removing the windows and taking them to their factory. At the factory, they will replace broken sections, clean the window, and repair the lead solder. The project will start on the west side of the church and work towards the east.
St. Lawrence had new outside storm windows for the stained-glass replaced in August of 2024.
