Faith Center
St. Joseph Faith Center was built in 1900. Originally, the school was on the bottom two levels, and the parish hall was on the upper floor. The last renovation was done in 1949 – 75 years ago. Over the years, the Faith Center housed various ministries, including CCD, outreach ministries, God’s Storehouse, and St. Vincent de Paul. The building is a historical site in Wapakoneta and a beautiful site for the community. A few years ago, the roof was replaced, the bricks were repointed, and the windows were replaced. A committee was formed to discuss this facility, and after much prayer and discussion, it was determined that it should be renovated, not demolished. Currently, the Faith Center is not handicap accessible, which is a priority. The renovation will include an elevator with access to the parking area. The renovation will start mid-February 2025, and hopefully be completed by January 2026. Once completed, the Faith Center will house our parish offices and CCD.
Stained-Glass Windows
St. Lawrence stained-glass windows are scheduled for refurbishment in the late spring or early summer of 2025. Window Creations, based in Ottoville, OH, will refurbish the windows. Window Creations refurbished St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Conception’s stained-glass windows a few years ago. The process involves removing the windows and taking them to their factory. At the factory, they will replace broken sections, clean the window, and repair the lead solder. The project will start on the west side of the church and work towards the east.
St. Lawrence had new outside storm windows for the stained-glass replaced in August of 2024.
